“Two-way talk” sounds like it fully describes the feature. It doesn’t — it names the capability without saying how you actually operate it, or what happens on the other end while you’re speaking. Two unrelated design choices hide behind the same two-word label, and one of them shows up the moment you actually try to use the feature at 2am with a baby in one arm.

Neither approach is inherently wrong — half duplex is simpler, cheaper, and extremely reliable engineering, and full duplex adds complexity that isn’t always necessary for the use case. But it’s a real functional difference that “two-way talk” as a label doesn’t disclose either way.
