§04The factory inspection nobody budgets for

⚑ Korean auditors, Chinese factory

This is the item that surprises buyers most, because almost no other major market does it for a product of this class. Where the Safety Certification tier applies, certification includes assessment of the manufacturing facility — which for a China-sourced baby monitor means a Korean-recognised body assessing a plant in Shenzhen or wherever your adapter is actually made.

Three practical consequences follow. First, your supplier has to agree to it, and needs the systems and documentation to survive an audit — which is a supplier-selection criterion, not a paperwork item. ⚑ Signals a Korean entry isn’t ready
  • “Your FCC report is enough for Korea.” It isn’t. A partner who says this hasn’t done a Korean submission.
  • One certificate offered as “KC certification.” Ask which of the three tracks it covers — radio, adapter safety, or monitor safety.
